Peggy Huang Campaign Gains Momentum Following Successful Trip to Washington D.C.

Huang meets with U.S. House of Representatives GOP Leader Kevin McCarthy and National Republican Congressional Committee Chairman Rep. Tom Emmer

IRVINE, CA – In wrapping up a successful week in Washington D.C., Peggy Huang took the opportunity to meet with Republican Party leadership to further outline her vision of helping working families in the 45th Congressional District and discuss the positive direction of her campaign. Huang has now gained the most local support of any candidate in this high-profile race for Orange County’s 45th Congressional District.

“I am so grateful for the encouragement of both Republican Leader Kevin McCarthy and NRCC Chairman Congressmen Tom Emmer,” Huang said.“They were both absolutely generous with their time and I appreciate their valuable advice as this campaign moves forward.”

According to a recent report in the Washington D.C.-based newspaper The Hill, NRCC Chairman Rep. Tom Emmer specifically singled out the Orange County seat of freshman Rep. Katie Porter, calling it a “real opportunity,” for a prime pickup following Porter’s decision to support an impeachment inquiry into President Trump.

The DC trip, initially scheduled for three days, was extended an additional two days to accommodate more than two dozen additional meetings and events, enabling Huang to gather additional national support for her candidacy. Locally, Peggy Huang has been endorsed by Orange County Supervisors Donald Wagner and Andrew Do, California State Assemblyman Phil Chen, California State Senator Ling Ling Chang, in addition to scores of local city elected officials throughout Orange County.

The 45th Congressional District of California includes the cities of Irvine, Tustin, North Tustin, Lake Forest, Laguna Woods, Laguna Hills, Villa Park, Mission Viejo, Rancho Santa Margarita, Coto de Caza, and portions of the cities of Anaheim and Orange.
