Peggy Huang Added to Exclusive National Republican Congressional Committee Radar
NRCC Announces 43 "On the Radar" Candidates for U.S. Congress; Brings National Attention and Energy to Huang’s Candidacy
IRVINE, CA – The National Republican Congressional Committee this week announced the inclusion of Peggy Huang in their first round of “On the Radar” candidates as part of the Committee’s 2020 program. The announcement propels, into the national spotlight, Peggy Huang’s campaign in this high-profile race for Orange County’s 45th Congressional District.
"I am pleased that our hard work in Orange County is already getting noticed in Washington DC." Huang said. "I fully appreciate both NRCC Chairman Congressmen Tom Emmer and Republican Leader Kevin McCarthy. Their valuable advice and resources will be vital as this campaign moves forward."
According to a recent report in the Washington D.C.-based newspaper The Hill, NRCC Chairman Rep. Tom Emmer specifically singled out the Orange County seat of freshman Rep. Katie Porter, calling it a "real opportunity," for a prime pickup following Porter’s decision to support an impeachment inquiry into President Trump.
"It’s clear the 2020 election will be a choice between two futures: a future of more freedom or government control," said Republican Leader Kevin McCarthy. "The new socialist Democrats are embracing policies that are in direct conflict with the needs and priorities of the American people: more taxes, more spending, more government, and less freedom."
Peggy Huang has received the endorsement of Orange County Third District Supervisor Donald Wagner, former California State Assemblywoman Young Kim, California State Senator Ling Ling Chang and California State Assemblyman Phillip Chen. In addition, scores of local city elected officials throughout Orange County have endorsed Peggy.
The 45th Congressional District of California includes the cities of Irvine, Tustin, North Tustin, Lake Forest, Laguna Woods, Laguna Hills, Villa Park, Mission Viejo, Rancho Santa Margarita, Coto de Caza, and portions of the cities of Anaheim and Orange.
