Peggy Huang Announces Candidacy for Congress
Huang will seek election to the U.S. House of Representatives for the 45th Congressional District; Receives Endorsement of O.C. Supervisor Donald Wagner

IRVINE, CA --- Peggy Huang today announced that she is a candidate for the U.S House of Representatives in the 45th Congressional District of Southern California.
“I am excited today to share the news of my candidacy, which, truly is a campaign for all of us who support public safety, education reform, and keeping our economy strong,” Huang said. “Over the course of my career as a child advocate and now as Deputy Attorney General, I have been fighting for families. I want to take that passion and leadership to Washington D.C.”
Following her education and law degree, Huang continued to fight for children. She worked for what is now part of the Children’s Law Center in Los Angeles. From there, Huang prosecuted those who abused and neglected children in facilities licensed by the California Department of Social Services. Currently, she serves as Deputy Attorney General prosecuting criminals and keeping our families safe.
“I could not be more thrilled to receive the endorsement of my colleague and friend Orange County Supervisor Donald Wagner.” Wagner, the former Irvine Mayor, was recently elected to the Orange County Board of Supervisor Third District in a special election.
A regional leader, Peggy Huang serves as Chairman of both the Southern California Associations of Government’s Committee on Community, Education, and Human Development and Subcommittee on the Regional Housing Needs Assessment. Huang is also a commissioner on First 5 Orange County, Children & Families Commission.
A Taiwanese native, Peggy Huang is longtime resident of Orange County. After attending University High School in Irvine, she received her undergraduate degree at University of California, Berkeley, and her Juris Doctorate from the University of the Pacific, McGeorge School of Law. She lives with her husband, Dr. James Huang, and are the parents of two daughters.
The 45th Congressional District of California includes the cities of Irvine, Tustin, North Tustin, Lake Forest, Laguna Woods, Laguna Hills, Villa Park, Mission Viejo, Rancho Santa Margarita, Coto de Caza, and portions of the cities of Anaheim and Orange.
